Born in Austin, Texas and raised in Nigeria, Mutayo's passion for fashion began in her aunt’s tailor shop, where she developed a fascination with design—especially handbags. Surrounded by craftsmanship and cultural expression, her creative instincts were shaped early on.

After returning to the U.S., Mutayo pursued a degree in computer science, drawn to the logic and structure of design in technology—an unexpected yet complementary influence on her artistic journey.

What truly fueled the launch of her brand, however, was the realization that Nigeria is one of the world’s largest suppliers of high-quality leather—yet rarely acknowledged in the luxury space. That discovery sparked her vision: to create a brand that not only showcases exceptional design but also honors the origin of its materials.

Today, Mutayo designs refined, high-end handbags that blend modern elegance with cultural depth, drawing inspiration from her heritage and the traditional patterns of the Ekpeye people.
